Even at the Last Moment, Grace Shows Up
Two men were crucified next to Jesus that day. Same cross. Same punishment. Same moment. But two very different responses.
One of them hurled insults. The other? He looked over at Jesus and said something that changed everything.
"Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Luke 23:42
That's it. No long prayer. No list of good deeds. No years of church attendance. Just a broken man, at the end of his rope, making one choice — to believe.
And Jesus didn't hesitate.
"Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:43
Man, that gets me every time. This guy didn't have time to clean up his life, make amends, or do anything to earn it. He just believed. And that was enough.
That's grace. That's what we talk about every single day on this devotional. Grace doesn't wait for you to get your act together. Grace meets you right where you are — even on the worst day of your life.
Maybe you feel like it's too late for you. Maybe you've done too much, gone too far, waited too long. The thief on the cross says otherwise. There is no moment too late and no person too far gone for grace to show up.
You just have to turn your head and ask.
Be nice. Grace wins.
