# 82 Jimmy

By Frank Mann Jr. · Thursday, September 24, 2026 · *Psalm 31:15*

I've had the most ridiculous three days at the DMV trying to get a tag and title for my old GMC Jimmy truck. I wanted a personalized tag too, "81 JIMMY," since I thought my truck was an '81. Turns out, in the state of Georgia, that tag is already taken. So I went back and forth to the DMV for three straight days, praying for patience, getting more frustrated by the hour.

Come to find out, after all that, my truck is actually an '82. And wouldn't you know it, "82 JIMMY" was sitting there available the whole time.

It's a small thing, but it reminded me of something. The moment I quit trying to force the outcome I wanted and just let the process play out, it worked out exactly like it was supposed to.

It's amazing how things fall into place when you lose the illusion of control. When you try to control everything, you enjoy nothing.

So no matter what you're going through today, what you're dealing with right now, relax. Breathe. Let go, and really try to live life. You can't control everything. Sometimes you just have to have faith that things are going to work out like they're supposed to.

God's never early, never late, but always on time. And His perfect timing does two things.

First, it grows our faith. When we're forced to wait, forced to trust instead of force our own outcome, something in us stretches and strengthens that never would have grown otherwise.

Second, it makes sure He, and He alone, gets the glory. If we could engineer every outcome ourselves, we'd never have a reason to thank Him for it. But when we let go and it still works out, there's no question who gets the credit.
