Godly Competition: Giving Your Best to God on the Track
My races last weekend got pretty aggressive and lately I’ve been struggling with how I can be Godly and competitive at the same time. I’ve confided with fellow racers and fellow athletes about this the last few days and I’ve received some great advice. One of which is to “leave it on the track”. While I 100% agree, I ultimately came to the conclusion that if I’m not being competitive then I’m not giving my best to God. So I have to figure how to maintain my edge without losing my godliness. Racing/playing sport with passion is all about giving God your best and striving for excellence. This goes beyond the track and into every aspect of my life. It’s about me having a passion for serving others, being a good husband, telling others about the Lord and doing everything “enthusiastically” for Him.As an racer/athlete, it’s important to let that passion show up when you train, practice and play your sport. But it’s just as important to strive for the same level of excellence in your relationship with God, your relationship with others and anything that He calls you to do. That’s living a life consumed with God’s passion.“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,”Colossians 3:23 God>MeGrace,

He's Not Finished
Are you living in growth mode with Christ? None of us are going to get there in this life, and that's okay. God has more patience than we do, and He's not finished with us yet.
