Moving Forward on Faith Alone Without All the Answers
I saw a video yesterday of PGA Tour player, Scottie Scheffler. He was talking about how he doesn’t play golf for money as his motivations aren’t money. Those that follow him and are a fan, know his motivation is being a good servant to The Lord. He reminds me of another high profile athlete who put his relationship with God first, Tim Tebow. Tim had one of my all time favorite quotes; “Sometimes we just have to trust God enough to go even when we don’t have all the answers.” -Tim TebowSo as a UGA fan, I didn’t care for him when he played, but I certainly admire his commitment to the Gospel and believe he’s a faithful servant. To that point, he’s right in what I quoted above and we need to talk about it. You see, how many times in our lives have we not done something out of fear of not knowing if it was what we needed to do? I can tell you I have, too many times to count. But here’s the thing, how many times did you “just do it” leaning on your faith in God to deliver you safely? I have as well and those are the most rewarding. Moving forward on faith alone not knowing where or what the results will be but going on faith alone. You just send it. God is calling for each and every one of us. You may be feeling the pull of his grace right now but are hesitating. Maybe you’re trying but you’re uncomfortable and feeling all alone and maybe you want to quit. Don’t. Look over a seven years ago I was challenged to start this devotional. I was scared to death. I’m not a pastor or anything close to what I thought was a person qualified to share the gospel. But I took the first step, knowing that God wanted me to do what I could, my way. It has not been easy, I’ve wanted to quit, but just when I think it’s too much, God seems to send me a message of encouragement and it gets me excited to move ahead. I don’t know where I’m going with our devotionals and I don’t know when I will get there. I don’t have those answers. But what I do have is faith in God and right now, He’s got me here. “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”Hebrews 11:1 So, take up your faith today. Move forward without knowing where your going. Trust God even if you don’t know what the heck is around the corner. Remember, the Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God Won’t protect you. Be Nice. Grace Wins.
