Seeking God's Approval Over Others
I don’t know whether it’s getting older or my growing desire to be closer to God, but I can say I seek more now to please Him than I do others. I think so anyhow, but it hasn’t always been that way. Who are you trying to please or impress? You see, we live in such a different world now where we seem to be searching for the next “like” and we can become consumed with our dependency on others. Look, I’m guilty as the next when it comes to my enjoyment of social media. It’s fun and I love sharing my flying, racing and adventures with others. It’s brings me a lot of joy because these are blessings of God and I want to share them. But I can say for sure that left unchecked it could become a crutch for the approval of others. I pray it doesn’t, I don’t think it has. But we need to know that while it’s nice to have to respect of our peers, the adoration we should be seeking is that of our Lord and Savior. You would think that our search for approval would be over when we come into a relationship with Jesus. But so many times we are looking for the approval of others. Why do we look to others when all we need is Jesus?“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”Psalms 73:26 Be Nice. Grace Wins.
