Stop Making Excuses and Find Rest in Forgiveness
Y’all…I’m so sorry for sending it late yesterday. I was traveling yesterday, got up extra early to have this done. Well, I finished it, prepared it to send and forgot to send. Thanks to some of you who checked in on me to make sure I was ok. It makes me feel good knowing you look forward to these and get concerned when they are late. I’m humbled…thank you. At any rate, you know we can pretty much rationalize and minimalist just about anything we do if we put our “self” first when doing things. Think about it, no matter how ridiculous our actions may be we can always back it up with some sort of self righteous reasoning. But I think we can be free of excuse making. We don’t have to defend ourselves against the truth about ourselves. That price has been paid...“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28 You see, maybe that rest involves being able to stop all this excuse making in its tracks. By admitting how we can fool ourselves, by admitting we’re addicted to our own rightness, by rethinking how we approach life, we may just also find this elusive “peace” He spoke of. Let’s stop. No more justifying, no more constant rationalization. This is the beauty of actually saying, “I am not a good person” but knowing you’re a “forgiven one.”Be Nice. Grace Wins.

Like a Father's Arm
Today is short and sweet because God's love is simple. His love endures forever. I felt it yesterday at treatment, like a father's arm around a son. I am humbled with gratitude.

Cancel the Debt
Forgiven people should be forgiving people. Forgiveness is a decision to cancel the debt, regardless of whether the other person admits, apologizes, or even knows. Who can you release today?

The Most Expensive Gift
Grace. What is it exactly? Paul says we can't earn God's favor by works. Righteousness comes through faith. Grace is the most expensive gift, given freely to the one who puts his faith in Jesus.
