Think Before You Speak

I want to stay on what we say a little longer. To me, there is nothing worse than saying thing you can’t take back. I know we’ve all done it. It’s sickening really. “The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.”Proverbs 15:28 Once we say it, it’s out there and it’s real hard to take it back. So, Proverbs teaches us to think before we speak. The heart of the righteous man studies how to answer, which means he first thinks about the outcome and effect of his words before speaking at the right time. We also perceive in Proverbs that the heart of the wise teaches his lips, which means that there is an inner processing in the mind that takes place prior to speaking, releasing wisdom. Therefore, the rule is uncomplicated: ‘let us think before we speak’. Easy lesson today, have a great weekend. Be Nice. Grace wins.
