Who's Really Doing the Waiting?
I wanted to send you into the weekend thinking about something…You ever feel like your waiting for God’s plan for you? I sure do, but what if all this waiting isn’t really us waiting for God but rather Him waiting for us? What I am getting at is who is actually doing the waiting? We may think it’s us, but we could be wrong. Think about when Abraham asked God for a child so he could be a father. He waited 25 years. Clearly Abraham was doing the waiting but maybe God was waiting for him to be ready to take on the role of father. Maybe you’ve asked God for a certain something or somebody. You start to feel like it’s never going to happen and the wait is taking forever. You’ve even tried to expedite the waiting process, but your little plot didn’t work and now you’re back to square one. I’ve done it plenty. There are things I’ve wanted to do and accomplish in my life that I just knew I needed NOW and was ready for but they came much later than I ever suspected or wanted. But looking back, if I’m honest, they came to me when I was ready, when God knew I was ready. When we see a purpose in our waiting, it brings us closer to God.I think He is asking you to delight yourself fully in Him so He can give you the desires of your heart.Maybe, He wants to expose the idols in your life that have taken precedence over Him.Maybe, He will use this time of waiting to develop your perseverance so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Every season of waiting is a doorway through which more transforming grace enters our lives.“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”Psalms 27:14 Look here…y’all have a great weekend now! Be Nice. Grace wins,
