Being Who God Wants You to Be
You ever wonder if you’re being who God wants you to be or who others think you should be?“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”Galatians 1:10 Maybe you are worried about what other people think about you? We all have at some point. To a degree I do, it keeps me in check. Maybe you act a certain way and you know it’s not you, but you do it to fit in with people. Or, you dress a certain way so you don’t stand out in a weird way or get made fun of...except for me, my friends take shots at my clothes all the time, I dress like a 5 year old, but I like it. You want people to like you. That’s okay. It’s actually a good thing, a healthy thing. But it becomes a problem when we become so afraid of what other people think of us that we stop being ourselves.Look at the verse you just read. Here’s what it's pretty much saying. We shouldn’t try to impress others, and we don’t need to impress God. He loves you just the way He made you, and He wants you to be you.I know we all want to belong and fit in, but you need to know you belong to God first. Once you understand that, you’ll begin to understand who God has made you to be, and you’ll notice that being rejected isn’t so scary. So, stop trying to be someone else, and start to focus on who God made you to be. Who ever that person is, I’m sure it’s perfect in God’s eyes. Be Nice. Grace wins.
