Breaking Free From Guilt Through Christ's Forgiveness
So, I spent some time yesterday with a long time friend who after some struggles is looking to the Lord for renewal. When friends come to us, it’s our chance to bear witness to the Grace God has shown us. It’s our chance to share what has so freely and undeservingly been given us...it’s also a chance to remember the enemy is closer than we think. That in itself gave me pause to think. You know, we try all sorts of behaviors to stop feeling guilt. We stay obsessively busy. We distract ourselves with constant amusements. We try to work it off with good deeds. We rationalize away responsibility. We blame other people. We can sedate ourselves with drugs or alcohol or food. But guess what? Nothing works.Except this: accepting responsibility for your own sins against God, and this: embracing the gift of the forgiveness of your sins through the payment made by Jesus Christ on his cross. A great sinner named David gave you words to say in prayer: "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin" Psalm 51:1,2What guilt are you dragging around right now? Want to be rid of it? Admit your responsibility, let Jesus have it, and serve him anew with a clear conscience.Be Nice, Grace wins

No Condemnation
Your habits, good or bad, are not who you are. There is no condemnation for those in Christ. An heir inherits all that came before, in Christ we own freedom, it's our right and our God-given legacy.

Your Story to Tell
Just back from the Rockies, listening to old friends and new ones tell their stories got me thinking about sharing our own, the story of God's forgiveness. Who do you know who needs to hear it?

Sorry Enough to Change
There's a big difference between saying sorry and actually being sorry. Repentance means turning away from the wrong, sorry enough to change. God's love means He will always forgive us.
