Breaking Free: God's Light Overcomes Darkness
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”1 John 1:9 ESVWe've all made mistakes and we've all been hurt. Whether it's from our own doing, pain from life experiences, or what someone else has done to us, there are times we fall into hopelessness. The danger lies in what we turn to when we are down. When we seek anything but Jesus we become entrapped. Anger, alcohol, crime, illegal substances, gossip, eating junk, hate, immoral relationships... all roads away from Jesus enslave us to the world and stop our ability to live with Grace. Then we become haunted by the dark shadow cast over our lives. Those in darkness suffer; yet, those who cry out to God in their trouble will be saved from their troubles! God's light can never be put out by darkness. By his great love and his great sacrifice, Jesus breaks the chains that bind us to the evil of this world and sets us free. When we confess our sins, he is faithful to forgive us so that we can walk in freedom! We no longer have to be a prisoner to our pain. We can turn toward God and his Grace heals us from our guilt, our grief, and our grudges.Be Nice, Grace Wins
