Choosing Compassion When We've Had Enough
You ever just lose it for a moment when you’ve “had enough”? I do sometimes and the worst part is, we usually take it out on the ones we love the most. Thankfully, I am quick to realize when I’ve lost it and I’ve learn to ask for forgiveness. I’m not sure what causes us to lose our compassion other than we are just human and we will fail. I pray nightly that God lays compassion on my heart towards others...specifically those who oppose me. But it’s hard these days with so many labels, differences of opinion, lifestyles, etc. to always connect with people. Take the political environment these days…good grief! Anyhow, we are charged to love one another and show acceptance. It’s hard, even to those who persecute us, but we must try. Not being swayed by public opinion but loving our enemies and showing acceptance toward those who disagree with us is what I consider compassion. In other words being an empath to those we meet. We are pushed in so many directions and our faith in God is being challenged daily. “Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”Hebrews 13:1-2“Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.”Hebrews 13:9 So stay strong in the word this week, smile and show grace and compassion to those who don’t agree with you. Pray for those who persecute you and most of all show love and bear good fruit. This is certainly an challenging ask, but we can do this!Be Nice. Grace Wins.

Like a Father's Arm
Today is short and sweet because God's love is simple. His love endures forever. I felt it yesterday at treatment, like a father's arm around a son. I am humbled with gratitude.

Have This Mind
On Friday we talked about choosing humility before our feet hit the floor. Today, Paul shows us why. Jesus emptied Himself, that's the bar.

What Does It Matter?
When you find yourself judging someone else's motives for sharing the gospel, ask what Paul asked from his prison cell: what does it matter? As long as Christ is preached.
