Christmas Forgiveness - Give It Like You Received It
As we ease into the Christmas season, we are surrounded by all kinds of events and celebrations. Company parties, charity functions, volunteering, it’s all wonderful and it’s all in the Christmas Spirit. But like you, I get excited for Christmas because it’s the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And I can’t think about Jesus without thinking about forgiveness. Forgiveness is everything, it’s what we’ve been given and it’s insuring our eternity. But are you giving it like it was given to you?“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”Ephesians 4:31-32 But he we are celebrating the one who forgives us for any and all our sins but yet I hear so often about how we don’t speak to “so and so” because they did “whatever”. Or, we are letting something someone did to us in the past put us on the path of revenge or resentment. Families not talking or getting together. Look, I get it. Anger, rage, resentfulness, or frustration can lead to serious physical and mental problems. Our mind is constantly under stress, even in our sleep. If those emotions are caused by the behavior of others, there is only one way to free ourselves free and that’s to forgive!Otherwise, what other people do will hunt you forever. Forgiving is something you do not only do for the sake of the one you're forgiving, but for your own sake as well. It's not easy, but it's important for you in order to set yourself free. Don't worry. God's got your back! With His help, you can do anything possible. Ask Him for His help. He will guard and navigate you through the process. As you forgive, you will be forgiven...Be Nice, Grace Wins!
