Drop the Stone, Pick Up the Towel
"And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, 'Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.'"
John 8:7
In a world where opinions go viral in minutes and social media debates go from zero to 100 in a hot second, it's wise to remember to be like Jesus both online and offline. Jesus wasn't afraid to call out sin, but He did it in the context of grace and relationship.
Posting about problems rarely leads to resolution. But standing up for someone who can't stand up for themselves? That's close to the heart of Jesus.
Instead of debating with people, we should start by extending grace, reminding them that their mistakes can be redeemed. Then we help them see there's a better way to live, by following Jesus.
So stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves. Stand up for the people the world rejects. Stand up for the overlooked and the outcasts. And don't just stand up, get ready to serve.
The same Jesus who told the crowd to drop their stones is the one who knelt to wash feet.
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Mark 10:45
Serving matters a great deal to God. It doesn't matter if we say we love God if we don't love His people by serving them well.
Be Nice. Grace Wins.

Not Earned
Confidence in our salvation doesn't come from our good works, it comes from God's grace. Our good works are the result of our faith, not a requirement for it.

The Sixty-Fifth Time
Sixty-five rounds of Keytruda. Plenty of days I asked God to take it away. So did Paul. God said no, then said something better: my grace is sufficient, my power is perfect in weakness.

He Loved First
Watching the sun come up, I can't help but marvel at what God has made. Loving Someone you can't see takes faith. But faith and action don't earn His love, He loved us first.
