Finding Peace in Life's Darkest Moments
So yesterday we remembered one of the most tragic days in the history of the US. I say that for those alive when it occurred, we will never forget. But think about how you felt then and how you feel today. The event, while still tragic and heartbreaking, with time has become easier to take. That’s God. Like many people, we prayed for peace during that day and prayed for understanding and resolve. God delivered. My dad would always quote my grandmother and say, “this to will pass”. And she was right. Are you in a dark place today? Are you praying for God’s peace to fill your heart and mind? You may be thinking, “Yeah, but you don’t know the trials I am facing right now.” And you would be right, I don’t. But God does. And His promise of peace in the midst of your circumstance is exactly what He can and will give to you.I read a poem written by a man who’s faith was great. As a successful business man and family man, he lost all his possession and his family in a tragic accident. When he was shown where his family was lost, he took pen to paper and wrote this poem:When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll;whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,“It is well, it is well with my soul.” Is your soul well?“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:7 Be Nice, Grace Wins. Much love,
