Finding Rest: Come to Me All Who Are Heavy Laden
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."”Matthew 11:28-30 I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend the rest of my life carrying around the weight that comes with not following Jesus and laying my troubles on Him. I’ve tried it, and it be honest, it’s not a game I wish to play. The truth of the matter is, if we are going to rebel against Him and not seek His mercy, doesn’t that kind of make his death for us all in vain? I’d say it does. I mean why would I want to turn my back on the greatest gift I/we have ever been given? I wouldn’t. Look, I know I’m not ever going to not have problems on this earth, I will. But I can promise you this, my problems won’t be from Pride or arrogance or disobedience from God. I get it, it may be scary sometimes, but I’m going to cast away any doubt and follow Him. We have to know our God and if we're not in a place of trust, tell Him. I promise you that He won't be offended. Open your heart and your mouth and lay it all on the line. It’s humbling, but He’s there for us. He’s provided the greatest safety net ever! The way I look at it, I’ve seen what my life looks like when I rebel against Him and run the show, I don’t want that anymore. Be Nice, Grace Wins!
