Finding Rest in a Chaotic World
“Treatment Tuesday” is here and I wanted to leave you with a thought that I think we all feel more often than we admit. That’s the feeling of needing a rest! If you’re like me, as the year comes to an end, we find our selves wide open and wondering where the year went. Well, it went the same place they all do and even quicker when we are too busy to pay attention. But what’s worse, is when we are so busy, this feeling of needing some rest is usually stemming from a starving spiritual need. It’s time to take a breath, be still, and know.We were not designed to live with constant busyness and noise! We all need rest and peace. But for many of us, rest has become a luxury as we have become accustomed to living without it. We feel like we can make it. But rest isn’t something we can just decide to go without, it’s a built-in physical, mental and spiritual requirement. Rest is, and always has been, a necessity that we must make space for in our lives. You see, the devil resides in the hectic, spiritually starved, chaotic world we live in today. The devil thrives in this space. See, he knows rest is good for us and he doesn’t want us to have it. He knows that rest connects us back to our Father, God. Rest reminds us of joy. It helps us be more creative, taps us back into Heaven’s perspective and allows us to feel wonderfully free. So, our enemy uses some techniques to keep us in a place of exhaustion and stress. The truth is, I am happier, kinder, more alive and more efficient when I am rested. You are too. But crucially, when we are resting well, we are also more like Jesus. So, that brings me to my last thing I want to mention today. We’ve been signing off with “Be Nice, Grace wins” forever now. Well, Tiana Schowe, a well know Christian Apologist and podcast personality “Made to Conquer”, has been part of our devotional group this year. She has a link and a Christian merchandise store that has been producing “Be Nice, Grace Wins” tee shirts. It’s a limited offering and the proceeds are going to Road Trip Home Charity, a animal rescue organization, Valerie and I very much support. If you’d like to see the tee shirts, click on the link below and scroll down till you see them. I’ve got a couple and they’re great! Thanks Tiana for the thoughtful and creative idea. I am grateful.Be Nice, Grace Wins FMJMade To Conquer | Linktree
