God Never Leaves You
I’m back! Sorry I missed yesterday but I was traveling back home. You ever get the feeling sometimes that when we sin, that God has left you? Like the feeling you had when you were a kid and you got in trouble with your parents and they punished you and during that moment you felt like they have left you? I have for sure. But the thing is, that feeling that our parents wouldn’t approve of our bad behavior and the feeling of letting them down, MOST of the time, was enough to make us behave. Same is true with our Heavenly Father. It’s hard to sin when we know God is right there with us. You see, God doesn’t expect His children to be perfect. He doesn’t wash His hands of us when we commit a wrongdoing. Instead, when we sin, He reminds us of His presence and the way out that He has provided.Recognizing God’s presence with us even in our most sinful moments is, in fact, a doorway to receiving His grace.Religion tells us that God will bless you only if you are good. This is not what the Gospel says. This is what it says: whether God blesses us or punishes us is not based on our actions; it’s based on our faith in Christ Jesus. But, God’s Grace doesn’t give us permission to knowingly sin. You parents wouldn’t allow it and neither is He. God showed His perfect Grace for us when he sent his Son the the cross to die for our sins. So, when we know that His presence doesn’t leave us, we cherish God more and the power of sin slowly loses its grip on us.“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"Hebrews 13:5-6 A few of us talked about this at the Braves game two weeks ago...just got around to writing about it. Ha!Grace,
