Guard Your Words, Guard Your Life
What we say and the words we use matter. This is a big one for me as most people who know me know I always say exactly what I’m thinking. I definitely don’t “sugar coat” anything. But be that as it may, some appreciate my way as they know exactly what I’m thinking and what I’m about. It can be both a curse or a blessing. Maybe you’re the same way? But there’s a catch...You see ours words effect our world. King Solomon tells us in Proverbs, “He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.’’ He also informs us that ‘’Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.” We all have regrets on our choice of words in certain situations and carry the guilt of what we have spoken in the past. We all comprehend the significance of our words and the powerful impact it has on our world, mainly our relationships with other people with who our main communication is words, our business dealings and as well in our decision making. It’s important for us to know how we can use our words to bless our lives and the lives of people around us. We need to watch our mouth in order to preserve our life and keep ourselves from a lot of trouble. Therefore, we need to make a conscious decision to monitor every word that comes from our tongue and not speak in a meaningless, foolish manner which can have a disastrous outcome on our lives and those around us.“Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!”Psalm 141:3 Be Nice. Grace wins.
