Not a Verdict
Job was a tremendously righteous man and suffered greatly. So should we assume that the more righteous we are, the more suffering we should expect? Not necessarily. The large part of Job's life featured God's blessings in every way.
Jesus tells His disciples something important. Good and bad things happen to good and bad people.
"So that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."
Matthew 5:45
In other words, we all suffer. Period.
When we let go of the idea that suffering means we did something wrong, we are free to walk through it without shame. We are also free to walk alongside others in theirs without trying to diagnose them.
But remember, the reward is eternal. And it is great.
Keep that in mind when the present feels unfair.
Be Nice. Grace Wins.
