Press On
I spent some time last week talking to a friend about doing some personal inventory, asking for redemption, and then moving on.
But the inventory and the asking aren't the destination. Paul shows us what comes next.
We must press on. We must leave the past in the past and press on in our daily lives, not for our glory but His.
Man, we need to let go of the past, the pain, the heartbreak, the disappointments, the sadness. And instead choose to live our lives in faith. We take God at His Word.
In Christ we are a new creation. We have a new start. We choose to run. And we run our race for His glory, not ours.
"Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:12-14

Not a Verdict
Job was righteous and suffered. Jesus said the sun rises on the evil and the good. Suffering is not a verdict on your standing with God. We all suffer. The reward is eternal.

Comforted to Comfort
The way out of suffering rarely looks like what we imagined. Sometimes His plan is to remain in it and stand under its weight. And the comfort we receive becomes comfort we can give.
