Running the Race That Matters Most
Sport, like life, has winners and losers. It’s always has and it always will. Despite the wishes of a seemingly blind new culture that wants to teach us “fairness” and insulate of from pain and failure, you will lose and things won’t always go your way. But that’s ok. You see, when we walk with Christ and focus our attention on our relationship with God, we are winning the most important race. The race of eternal life. So, run your own race. Not the “race” to the checker or the race to be the best salesman, business executive or club champion at you golf club. But the race to serve the Lord and share the Gospel. Sure, losing stinks. But Mick Jagger nailed it when he sang, “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need.” With Christ, you won’t always get what you want, but through his grace, you will ALWAYS get what you NEED!“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11 Be nice. Grace wins!FMJ

Paid in Full
A Cody Johnson lyric stopped me cold: Jesus has already paid every debt I owe. Most of us walk around with a tally sheet. But the books were balanced two thousand years ago. Tetelestai. Paid in full.
