Strong in Weakness: When God's Power Shines

First off, I’m sorry I was late yesterday. I wrote our daily and completely forgot to send. When I did send it I was flying over Tennessee headed to Arkansas. That’s where I am now. I’m camping in the Ozarks with zero service. I had to hike this morning at 5:00 CST to get to the lodges to get a signal. I hope this sends. Anyhow, I ask for some latitude as this is tough to get out back here. So back to today’s topic...the last few days I’ve been reading about our strength in weakness and failure. In 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 it tells us,“But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”What is a failure? I’ve heard people referred to in my life as “a failure”, but I’m coming to believe that’s not an accurate statement to make about someone, not to mention hateful. Failure isn’t a person, it’s an event. It doesn’t always feel that way though. We you were at try outs and didn’t make the team, it’s easy to think is you. It feels like “you” didn’t make the cut, period. But people that understand failure as an event and not ever a person are the ones that rise from failure and rebound to do something great. Michael Jordan got the axe in high school and went on to be the greatest to ever play the game. He realized “he” wasn’t a failure and he kept pushing forward. God doesn’t want us to be afraid to fail. He wants us to draw from his strength. Which is why we when are weak, He is strong. Don’t be afraid to fail. When you do, take it as an opportunity to learn, grow, and try even harder.Be nice, Grace winsFMJ
