We Need Each Other: The Power of Christian Community
So, as I’ve spent the weekend recovering from surgery I was inundated with friends and family reaching out showing support, praying over me and even bringing food and offering help. I couldn’t help but to write something about how we as Christians support one another...so I went digging. “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”Hebrews 10:24-25 Giving encouragement, love, and strength to other believers is one of our greatest priorities. The fact is that we need each other. That is how God designed it. God doesn’t want anyone to “go it alone.” As lonely as cancer is, I am anything but alone. I am so grateful. The truth is that building relationships with other Christians is crucial to our own growth. God often sets up “divine appointments” for us to minister to or encourage one another as maybe only we can. Each of us has a testimony that needs to be shared. The principle of strength in numbers applies even to Christians, and having strong relationships with fellow believers helps us grow in our walk with God! I am happy to report that the surgery went well and we hope to have more news from pathology this week. Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts sent. You’re truly amazing. Please no replies to this message, let stay with our rules. Be Nice. Grace wins.
