Whatever Happened to WWJD?
Y'all remember the WWJD bracelets we used to wear? What Would Jesus Do. I've been thinking about that lately while reading about how we should watch what we say and how we act. Whatever happened to it? Did we figure out what Jesus would do? Did we stop caring?
I think it's just as applicable today as it was when it was cool. Maybe more so.
Here's where it gets tricky. Being judgmental is one of the greatest social sins you can commit today. You can hold any ideas you want, but you absolutely may not make somebody else feel uncomfortable because of their lifestyle or beliefs. We know what that is. It's called being politically correct, and it certainly gets taken to the extreme. But the basis of the idea is noble.
As Christians, God expects us to witness to His Word and hold onto His standards. So what's the difference between faithful witness and judging? Judging is looking down at someone else, imagining yourself to be more worthy of God's mercy, despising others for their weakness, zeroing in on their faults while never looking at your own.
Here's a better way. Interpret the words and actions of others in the kindest possible way instead of the worst. Keep your words soft and humble. If you have to point out someone else's flaws, open up your own life to correction by that person first. Always look to build people up instead of tearing them down.
That's what Jesus would do. And that's what Be Nice Grace Wins is all about. It's WWJD with work boots on. It's not a slogan, it's a way of living. Lead with kindness. Let grace do the heavy lifting. And before you open your mouth, imagine that Jesus is in the room with you. You know He actually is, right?
Be Nice. Grace Wins.

What Does It Matter?
When you find yourself judging someone else's motives for sharing the gospel, ask what Paul asked from his prison cell: what does it matter? As long as Christ is preached.

He Loved First
Watching the sun come up, I can't help but marvel at what God has made. Loving Someone you can't see takes faith. But faith and action don't earn His love, He loved us first.
