A Look Back Before I Head West

1 min readPeace

This week we went deep into some hard soil. We talked about relying on God instead of ourselves when the weight gets heavy. We sat with Jesus's warning in Luke 13 and that vinedresser who wouldn't give up on a fruitless fig tree, digging around it, working the ground, because that's what grace actually looks like. And we closed out with Peter's reminder that by His wounds we are healed, and that even when we wander like sheep, one bad patch of grass at a time, the Shepherd still comes looking for us.

If there's one thread running through all of it, it's this: God isn't distant from our weakness. He's working in it, on purpose, for our good and His glory.

I'm heading west to the Rockies for a bit of rest, and I won't be posting again until Monday, August 24th. I hope you'll spend some of that time in the Word yourselves, sit with one of these passages again, let it work on you the way it's worked on me this week.

Be Nice. Grace Wins.

A small nod from the shop, paired with today's message and made to start the same kind of conversation.
