A Prayer of Thankfulness and Trust
As I’m reading about thankfulness this week, I came across this prayer of sorts about being thankful. I couldn’t write it any better so I thought I’d share it for today;Lord, everything you do is righteous and holy. Though I don’t always understand the things that happen, my heart is set upon you. I will rest in the faithfulness of your ways. You know what’s best for me. You will make a way. When my mind overwhelms my heart and fights for the right to complain, I will bow before your throne of grace and yield my thoughts to you. Though tempted with confusion, I will choose to praise. I will commit myself to thankfulness and call to mind the many ways you’ve blessed me.These unanswered questions will be satisfied by your love. The hopes that felt defeated, you will bring back to life. My spirit is empowered as I lean into your strength. Darkness doesn’t stand a chance when my heart is filled with praise.“Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name!”Psalm 97:11-12 Be Nice, Grace Wins
