Breaking Free from the World's 'Normal'
Ok, I’m going to “get real” for a minute. Too often I allow myself to think in ways that lead me to act contrary to God’s Word. What exactly do I mean? Simple, I like you maybe, can easily get caught up in what the world around me says is ok and acceptable. What is “normal” these days is hard to get around. Let’s face it, the world needs more Jesus. The world’s “normal” can easily influence and shape our decisions. It’s kind of like peer pressure, making us feel obligated to trying one thing or another. God’s Word charges us to consider that although a certain path may be acceptable according to societal norms, those for whom God’s Word is a guidepost should recognize it as the standard for living. Scripture should set the standard for all we do. It should guide and shape our way of thinking, which eventually plays out in what we do. We have to transform our minds on what guides us. But transformation of the mind doesn’t come easy. It requires total surrender to God and God’s Word, which enables us to relinquish our tendency to follow the world’s “normal” behaviors.“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”Romans 12:2 Have a great weekend!Be Nice. Grace Wins. FMJ*Monday I am having surgery. I will do my best to get our devotional out Monday morning from pre-op. I have to be checked in at 6:00 am. The Very Thing
When Paul said give thanks in all circumstances, he meant ALL. Including the crappy ones. Try thanking God today for the very thing that's keeping you from thanking Him.

Find Him in the Ordinary
We get excited about big blessings, but His blessings are everywhere if we'll just look. The little chats. The slight smile. Even the dogs that need us. All of it is praiseworthy.

Like a Father's Arm
Today is short and sweet because God's love is simple. His love endures forever. I felt it yesterday at treatment, like a father's arm around a son. I am humbled with gratitude.
