Building Trust: Being Dependable Like Our Heavenly Father
It’s been a busy week already and it’s only Tuesday and I had a good conversation spring up from our morning chats. One of which came up this week about trust. It came up in the context of one of you said, “I can count on and trust you sending the morning devotional.” That has sat on me a while and got me thinking about what trust really is...How dependable am I? Are people able to trust me and my word? If they lean on me for help and support, do I hold up or do I instead hurt them? When I am assigned work, do people believe I will deliver in time or do they think twice to ask? Do they have to remind me or do they know I will do what I said I would? (Insert old guy who’s his hit head jokes) Am I trustworthy and dependable like my Father in heaven? Can God and people rely on me? Can they take me at my word? My constant endeavor is to answer those questions truthfully. You see, God will not lose trust in us and we shouldn’t either. So, let us rise in becoming more responsible and sincere, more dependable and trustworthy, and not betraying the trust He has placed in us.I’m doing the best I can, but I think I’m going to take some time and see where I can improve. Let’s ask God to help us change our attitude and become more responsible and dependable. I think in the end, that will help answer the question on trust in us. “Trusting in a treacherous man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth or a foot that slips.”Proverbs 25:19 Be Nice, Grace Wins
