Choose Your Happiness: Don't Let Circumstances Define You
So, I’m watching a movie over the sub Arctic Christmas shut in and at the end of the movie there was a line spoken and it said something that has been hanging on me.“When I stopped letting my situation define my happiness, I began to find happiness in my situation.”You see, if you don’t give people or situations permission to steal your happiness, they can’t take it. It’s pretty simple I think and we visited it last week. I want to go back there for a bit. Every single day, we have two choices: we can simply react to everything happening around us, or we can take action and create the lives we want to live. I’ve known people who have everything they’ve ever wanted, but they’re miserable. No matter what people do for them, they’re always going to be blaming something or someone. On a bright sunny day, they find the one cloud in the sky. Then I’ve known people who have gone through hard situations, but they’re still the happiest people I know. Nothing can steal their happiness. Why? Because every person’s happiness is ultimately their choice! If we put our happiness in other people’s hands, we’re going to be disappointed. It’s an incredible freeing when we take back the responsibility for how we feel. When we react to others’ actions, it sets us up to be the victim. When we maintain the fact that we own our emotions, we free ourselves to be victorious in all circumstances. Dig?“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”Psalms 37:4 You know where the key to your happiness lies, what are you going to do with it?Hope y’all had a Merry Christmas…it’s still too cold!Be Nice, Grace Wins.

The Very Thing
When Paul said give thanks in all circumstances, he meant ALL. Including the crappy ones. Try thanking God today for the very thing that's keeping you from thanking Him.

Find Him in the Ordinary
We get excited about big blessings, but His blessings are everywhere if we'll just look. The little chats. The slight smile. Even the dogs that need us. All of it is praiseworthy.

Like a Father's Arm
Today is short and sweet because God's love is simple. His love endures forever. I felt it yesterday at treatment, like a father's arm around a son. I am humbled with gratitude.
