Day 10Let’s keep talking forgiveness, after all its the root of Christianity. I’m in the dentist chair this morning talking (and drooling) with my hygienist about flossing and I comment, “well, when I’m on my game I’m flossing, but I can’t hide it from you...”. She replies, “we are all human.” I quickly respond with, “oh, I’m human alright, flawed too, but I’m forgiven!” She knew exactly what I meant and we had a great chat about our faith. We talked about how we are so blessed to be forgiven. It was awesome! You see, to forgive is to show mercy. In order for us to be merciful with others, we must be consistently encountering and reflecting on the abundant mercy of God toward us. You were saved by the greatest act of mercy the world will ever know. And now your heavenly Father is asking you to share the great mercy you have been shown. He’s asking you to live and operate in his likeness by loving others the way you have been loved. It’s hard, I know, I struggle but we can try. We can start by forgiving the next person. Forgiveness begets forgiveness...it can spread like wild fire!“"Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;”Luke 6:37 “and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,”Romans 3:24 “bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”Colossians 3:13 ESVI could cite scripture all day on forgiveness but we have a day to tackle...I hope yours is a great one!Peace,
