Flexing Your Gratitude Muscle
A had a really nice call last night from one of you and it really meant a lot to me. She said she really enjoyed my morning devotionals and to keep sending them. Occasionally I get feedback from ya’ll and I just wanted to say thank you! I love doing these, they’re not always great and they may not always be relevant to everyone but they are to someone. So, thank you, I am grateful for all of you. Which brings me to a great topic to take into the weekend. Gratitude! You see, today’s world often forces you to focus on what is bad, what needs to be fixed immediately, what crisis must be prevented, what new thing you need now to make your life better. Learning to notice the good takes practice. Thankfully, every time you flex your gratitude muscle you get stronger. You get positive feedback, it feels good to be grateful. And you connect with God who is the source of all goodness. You don’t need to look for big miraculous things to be grateful for. Jesus showed that gratitude can begin with very little. Start your gratitude practice by simply noticing what is good in the world around you. That house you’re quarantined in, thank God for providing it. The next meal you have, thank God for it. Make a practice to think to yourself, “thanks God” for all the blessing around you. This practice will become habit and bring peace and serenity. “The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”Genesis 1:12 Be grateful for the weekend. I am grateful for each of you. Be Nice, Grace Wins
