God Heals the Brokenhearted
As we get closer to August 22nd, I can’t help but to think about my dad. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since he passed. I know I’m not as “walking sad” as I was a year ago and the waves of sadness have calmed, but I miss him more now than I ever have. But it’s ok...“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”Psalm 147:3 Sometimes everyone feels sad, grieved, depressed, disappointed, worried, or hurt. Feeling sad happens to everybody I guess, even Jesus, even God. We feel sad when something really bad happens, like someone we love gets sick or dies, we lose something we care about, we don’t get something we wanted really badly, or we aren’t sure if things are going to turn out okay in the future. I think we are all going through a little bit of that now...but it’s ok. God is always with us, but the Bible says that when we’re feeling sad, He gets even closer to us. His Spirit surrounds us like a big hug. God can comfort us when we feel sad. The Bible calls feeling sad a broken spirit or a wounded heart. Just like it makes us feel better when someone who loves us puts a bandage on a wound on our body, God’s love can put a bandage on the wounds on our heart. It’s okay to cry when we’re hurting...I’m doing a little bit of that now. It’s okay to ask others to help us when our hearts are hurting. God will give us the strength to get over feeling sad even if the situation that’s making us sad doesn’t change. So here’s the deal, just ask Him to help. There is no “secret sauce” to asking either. No right or wrong way. Just ask, it’s that simple. He’s waiting for you. Be Nice, Grace Wins

Nothing Compares
Much of what we're grateful for are things of this world. But in light of what we have in Christ, nothing compares. Nothing this world offers comes close to a personal relationship with Jesus.

The Sixty-Fifth Time
Sixty-five rounds of Keytruda. Plenty of days I asked God to take it away. So did Paul. God said no, then said something better: my grace is sufficient, my power is perfect in weakness.

Defined by Hope, Not Mistakes
Listen, I’ve been rambling on for the past week about our bad habits and how God can remove them from us and restore us. So check this out;“Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I...
