God Our Father: Adopted Through Faith
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend (I can almost feel spring!) and is ready to get back to work with our daily walk with Christ. Today is Presidents Day, and while I admit, outside of acknowledging the existence of past leaders of our county, it means nothing to me. But it does give me pause to think that no matter who the President is, the can only be one true Father, and that’s the Lord God himself. As I think about how big and awesome our God the Father is, I cant help but think about the role a father plays in our lives and how God, THE FATHER, plays into us all.You see, as we are “in faith”, He’s all our father. “for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.”Galatians 3:26 So, what kind of a dad do you have? One that makes you ashamed or one that makes you proud? Some people have to bear the lifelong burden of having an absent father. But everybody knows what good dads do for kids they love, they provide security, food, and teach us how to navigate our ridiculous and dangerous world. They show their kids how to be strong, steady, and responsible. What a priceless gift it is to realize that the God of all has chosen to adopt us all as His kids, to obligate himself to rescue you, love you, and protect you. Just like the verse I posted above says, “we are all His though faith.” What this means is that resources of the God Himself are available for your needs, that the King is “your daddy”, that he is not merely watching you but is working toward your success. It means that when you pray, you don’t have to scrape, beg, or tremble. You can speak up with whatever is on your mind, knowing that you are talking to your Father, who loves you very, very much.Wow, what great way to start the day!Be Nice, Grace Wins!
