God's Plans Are Here and Now
Just sit tight for a minute, this probably isn’t going where you think it’s going. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11 ESVHow many times you heard this when your going through “your season”? Probably like a million…but that’s ok. Think about the Israelites exiled to a foreign land wondering if God had forgotten about them. But instead of Jeremiah trying to explain what’s going on, he basically just told them to marry, have kids and make the best of what they got. In other words, get on with the living. Dig roots right where you are; be present in your present situation. The plans God has are here and now. Mind blowing right? As I look back over my years of motocross injuries and now cancer treatment, I see that I found the most of what God had for me when I made the most of where I was, right where I was, without waiting for easier days that may or may not materialize. God has good things for us even when bad things have happened, and we find them right where we are. Right now. Sometimes that means acknowledging the good and the very painful at the same time. I don’t understand how, but hooked up to the chemo machines, I’ve felt comforted and alone all in the same moment…it’s weird, I know. So what am I saying? Well, simply life doesn’t have to be pain free to be full. Have a great weekend…right where you are. Be Nice. Grace Wins.
