Gracious Words Like Honeycomb
I was talking with my cousin Sunday and we were talking about what comes out of our mouths and what people see. “Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”Proverbs 16:24 Ok, let’s get real for today and do some self reflecting. What do the people around you see on your face? What do the people around you hear when you speak? Do your words, actions and attitudes tell the story of God’s goodness and faithfulness? I sure hope so...but I have a good feeling I fail at this quite a bit. I suspect we all do.So here’s the deal. We need to acknowledge our Gratitude in the highs and lows. Not just to God but to others. When we put into practice regularly acknowledging what we are grateful for, everyone around us is impacted. Our outlook on life and attitude changes. People around us can see and feel the difference. Our facial expressions changes. Our face tells a different story when we are grateful than it does when we are sitting in the negativity. Trust me, I can slip into the negativity in a New York minute. It takes a conscious effort, an intentional effort, to maintain an attitude of gratitude when life isn’t going your way. Right? So let’s ask God to change our hearts on whatever situations we may be facing. Let’s share our gratitude with others. A grateful heart can be displayed in what we don’t say just as much as it’s seen in what we do say. Be nice, Grace Wins!
