Look Them in the Eye

2 min readPrayer1 Thessalonians 1:2

A few days ago I was talking to a friend about The Great Commission, and how we're called to share the story of Christ. Today I got to thinking about the people we surround ourselves with and the people we express our gratitude toward. Sharing our gratitude with others is a great way to let our words and actions impact people.

But it's these "others" I want to focus on today.

It's easy to express our gratitude with the people we're closer to. But what about the everyday people you come in contact with daily? The clerk at the grocery store. The waiter. The neighbor you wave at without ever really stopping. It's easy to get going about our lives and we quit noticing people. This isn't cool.

Jesus spoke to everyone, the sick, the poor, and the criminal. He took the time to find value in everyone He met, look them in the eye, and share the story of His Father in Heaven.

If Jesus made time to see everyone, we can do the same. There are people all around us we can and should be grateful for.

"We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers."

1 Thessalonians 1:2

Today, look one stranger in the eye and tell them thank you. Mean it.

Be Nice. Grace Wins.
