Love Made Visible
We've been talking about seeking balance in our lives and in our relationships with God by showing compassion and serving others. What's interesting is that this brings me back to our discussion of the Golden Rule, and how it affects our relationship with others and our relationship with God.
Every relationship, whether with a friend, family member, spouse, or even with God, has two fundamental components that make it successful: the love and affection shared between the individuals, and putting that love into action.
The truth is, real love is always accompanied by action. A true friend seeing another in need will respond with help. The same is true in our relationship with God. A true love for God is accompanied by action. Touching the lives of those around us is a surefire way to touch God's heart.
Making the most of our relationships with others begins with our relationship with God. In fact, God asks that our relationships with others be an extension of our relationship with Him.
As believers, what matters most to God is our relationship with Him and our relationships with one another. Loving Him. Loving others.
And Jesus didn't leave this as a suggestion. He named it the greatest commandment.
"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."
Mark 12:30-31

What Does It Matter?
When you find yourself judging someone else's motives for sharing the gospel, ask what Paul asked from his prison cell: what does it matter? As long as Christ is preached.

He Loved First
Watching the sun come up, I can't help but marvel at what God has made. Loving Someone you can't see takes faith. But faith and action don't earn His love, He loved us first.
