One Year Later: Faith Carries Us Through
Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my fathers passing so I thought I’d look back to last year and see where I was...“8/23/19This is a hard morning to write to you all as within the hour or sending our message out yesterday, my father passed away. But I’m not going to sit here and talk about his death, but rather something he believed in and said often in the face of tragedy. “I don’t see how people make it through tough times with out faith.”It’s a valid statement and I don’t see how non-believers can do it. But thankfully, as Christians, we don’t have to know. We have been given the promise of eternal life and forgiveness through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And the best thing is, it’s been bought and paid for by Him. As my dad would jokingly say, “It don’t cost nothin’!” All we have to do is believe and have faith. “"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”John 3:16 My dad led a lot of people to Faith and was a fisher of men. He taught me faith and showed me what it meant to have it. I’ve written about God’s plan for each of us more than a few times over the last year. He has one for you and he’s working it now. It may not be the one you thought you’re entitled to have, but have faith, I can assure you it is the plan your supposed to have. God used my dad until he was ready and has called him home. That faith that he taught us all is what gives me peace that he is with The Father. “Go rest high on that mountainSon, your work on earth is done.Go to heaven a-shoutin'Love for the Father and the Son.” -Vince GillGrace wins,Frank Mann, Jr.”It’s so hard to think he’s been gone a year, I miss him so much. But, I know he is with The Father and I know I will see him again. What did I learn through all of this? Well, pretty simple. If we put our sadness in Gods hands and truly trust he has a plan for everything, we can get through anything. There is nothing, I mean nothing, we can’t survive if we let God carry the load. So, you may currently be getting punched in the face by the world and it sucks, I get it...keep going. Put your faith in God and know it is all for the good. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11 I love you dad. We all miss you. Be Nice, Grace Wins
