Rebooting Our Souls: God's Strength Through Rest
And just like that, we’re back! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and spent it with family and friends resting. I did, sort of, but I got plenty time to “recharge”. Speaking of recharging, a funny thing happened on re-entry to regular life. You see, I was in Florida and unable to have text and email access. But what was funny is my phone didn’t know it. It kept trying to send, receive and doing its job until it was so backed up, it was rendered useless. Sounds kind of familiar doesn’t it?Anyhow, I had to turn it off and allow it to reboot. Just like I was doing over the holiday and just like we all need to do. I left you before the holiday talking about the idea of rest. We all need it. “I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”Philippians 4:10-13Here’s the deal, we can “do all things” but we need to allow ourselves to allow God to help regenerate the strength in us. But why are we so afraid to take that rest? Are we afraid that God won’t love us if we aren’t constantly working? No, he loves us because he is our Father. We are just as loved, just as saved and just beautiful to God when resting. I hope you have a great week and I’m excited to be back with you. Be Nice, Grace wins!
