Running the Race: The Reward of Endurance
I’ve been writing about persevering the last couple of days and reading about the struggle on Earth and the eternal reward in Heaven. For most of my life I raced motocross, most of you know that. But I’ve never received a medal with out running the race. No successful business person or entrepreneur has ever had a successful business with out paying their dues, putting in the work. The point is, any and every reward comes with endurance. Certainly, this can mean good things here on Earth as a result of seeking God first. But more valuable than any temporary reward is an eternal reward, and that is extended to the faithful believer. You must not give up when you face temptation and trials. You must not throw in the towel when you become weary from the storm. Even if you’re barely keeping your head above the water, keep paddling till relief comes. Just don’t give up. The reward you will receive will be incredible! There is a reward of eternal life and fulfillment of all that God has promised you if you run this race with perseverance. If you keep your eyes on Jesus and keep the faith, you’ll never regret giving God your all. However, you will no doubt regret the moments when you gave up. Cross that victory line in exhaustion from giving it your all, in full gladness, with an expectancy of God’s promised reward.“Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.”Hebrews 10:35-36Be Nice. Grace wins.
