Salvation by Grace, Not Works
Hope everyone is doing well, I’m a little jet lagged, but otherwise no worse for the wear. Funny, I saw a couple of you at domestic baggage claim about 7 hours ago. Hope you made it home alright. Ok, so last week we talked about being a good witness for Christ, bearing good fruit and trying to be more like Jesus. All of which we should be doing. However, I think it’s worthy of discussion as to just how these “good works” are viewed. While we may be confident in our work, confidence in our salvation doesn’t come from our “good works” but rather from God’s grace. Salvation is a free gift that we cannot earn, it’s not based on how good we are but rather how good God is. That alone gives me a sigh of relief! Ha! Don’t allow people in your life to add “works” onto your salvation. As Christians, we work for the Lord out of gratitude and love for God, not to earn His love or our salvation. Our good works are the result of our faith in Christ, not a requirement for salvation. “For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—”Philippians 3:3Have a great week!Be nice. Grace wins.

What Does It Matter?
When you find yourself judging someone else's motives for sharing the gospel, ask what Paul asked from his prison cell: what does it matter? As long as Christ is preached.

Paid in Full
A Cody Johnson lyric stopped me cold: Jesus has already paid every debt I owe. Most of us walk around with a tally sheet. But the books were balanced two thousand years ago. Tetelestai. Paid in full.
