Seeking God's Approval Over Others'
I don’t know whether it’s getting older or my growing desire to be closer to God, but I can say I seek more now to please Him than I do others. I think so anyhow, but it hasn’t always been that way. Who are you trying to please or impress? You see, we live in such a different world now where we are searching for the next “like” or “share” and we can become consumed with our dependency on others. Look, I’m guilt as the next when it comes to my enjoyment of social media. It’s fun and I love sharing my racing and adventures with others. It’s brings me a lot of joy. But I can say for sure that left unchecked it could become a crutch for the approval of others. I pray it doesn’t, I don’t think it has. But we need to know that while it’s nice to have to respect of our peers, the adoration we should be seeking is that of our Lord and Savior. You would think that our search for approval would be over when we come into a relationship with Jesus. But so many times we are looking for the approval of others. Why do we look to others when all we need is Jesus?“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”Psalms 73:26 Peace,

Paid in Full
A Cody Johnson lyric stopped me cold: Jesus has already paid every debt I owe. Most of us walk around with a tally sheet. But the books were balanced two thousand years ago. Tetelestai. Paid in full.
