Set Your Mind on the Spirit, Not the Flesh
Yesterday was “treatment Tuesday” and I was sitting in the waiting room between getting my port accessed and seeing my oncologist prior to my infusion. Anyhow, this young nurse came and got me to show me to my room. When she approached me, I recognized her, smiled and cheerfully asked, “Hey! How are you?” She replied with a half hearted, “could be worse, I guess…”. I looked at her in amazement, with a line hanging out my chest and said, “Uh, remember where you are, it could be a lot worse”. She immediately had an about face with her attitude and said she was sorry and admitted she was letting everything get her down and she needed to change her attitude. Of course I had empathy for her and told he we all get that way sometimes. We just need to try and stay focused on the things that are good. Her mind was centered on the wrong things, things of the flesh and of this world. She was in the wrong place. Maybe you are now?I talked about what comes out of our mouths yesterday. I think it’s equally important to monitor what goes in our ears as well and what we let our minds be filled with. “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot.”Romans 8:5-7 Mental health is especially challenging in these times. How we think impacts who we are becoming, daily. According to God’s Word, there are two mindsets in which we can choose to operate; the mindset that operates according to the flesh and the mindset that operates according to the Spirit. As Christians, our mindset should be led according to the Spirit, but if we were able to do that on our own, we would have done it already. We need the Holy Spirit to help us align our mindset to the truth of God’s Word. Culture can try to change our mindset, but when we ask God to help us, our mindset is framed with strength from Heaven and protected.Ask yourself today if you are living accord I got to the flesh or the spirit. Be honest, the answer may surprise you...Be Nice. Grace Wins.

Nothing Compares
Much of what we're grateful for are things of this world. But in light of what we have in Christ, nothing compares. Nothing this world offers comes close to a personal relationship with Jesus.

The Sixty-Fifth Time
Sixty-five rounds of Keytruda. Plenty of days I asked God to take it away. So did Paul. God said no, then said something better: my grace is sufficient, my power is perfect in weakness.

Defined by Hope, Not Mistakes
Listen, I’ve been rambling on for the past week about our bad habits and how God can remove them from us and restore us. So check this out;“Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I...
