Stop Hiding: God Sees Through Shame to Grace
So talking about the hiding from our emotions and the “I’m fine” lie, what about when we have wronged God and ourselves? You know what I’m talking about, we’ve failed or been disobedient to God so we hide from him…like he can’t see us. I’ve slid out of sight before because I was ashamed of myself and didn’t want people or God to see me as a failure. Doesn’t work. Think back to the story of Adam and Eve, they tried to hide from God after eating that fruit from the garden they knew they shouldn’t. But why did they hide? Well they thought they were naked and exposed by sin. It’s the same for us when we turn away from God’s guidance. We get all ashamed and want to hide or disappear. But God gets to the heart of the matter. He asks in Genesis 3:11, “Who told you that you were naked?" God knows that sometimes we listen to the wrong voice. Probably the same voice that got us here in the first place. We have an enemy, an accuser, and that accuser wants to destroy us with thoughts and words.Anyhow, If we will listen, God can have the final word on all of the accusations and all the shame that keeps us in hiding. Be nice. Grace wins.

Like a Father's Arm
Today is short and sweet because God's love is simple. His love endures forever. I felt it yesterday at treatment, like a father's arm around a son. I am humbled with gratitude.

Cancel the Debt
Forgiven people should be forgiving people. Forgiveness is a decision to cancel the debt, regardless of whether the other person admits, apologizes, or even knows. Who can you release today?

The Most Expensive Gift
Grace. What is it exactly? Paul says we can't earn God's favor by works. Righteousness comes through faith. Grace is the most expensive gift, given freely to the one who puts his faith in Jesus.
