The Lord is My Shepherd: Finding Rest in the Storm
As a thought about what to write last night I was just laying there quietly reflecting on everything when I saw a book on my nightstand my dad had given me about the promise of the Psalm of David, Psalm 23. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”Psalm 23:1-6 When we face storms, the first thing that is questioned is our trust in God. For this reason, we must remember Psalm 23, the most famous psalm in the world. It reminds us that it is the Holy Spirit who leads us to places of rest within us. It reminds us that even though we cross dark valleys, we need not fear. Because the goodness and faithfulness of God will follow us every day.God's word tells us that even though we are in the midst of the storm, His goodness and love will follow us like a shadow, at all times. But that inner peace requires trust in a God who will never abandon us. Not in men, in institutions or in the economy, but only in God.Have a great week!Be Nice, Grace Wins
