Time: The Only Capital You Can't Afford to Lose
I wanted to share some of what I’ve been reading with regards to our “time”. I touched on it earlier this week, but let’s dig a little deeper. When you take a view of your life compared to eternity, it causes you to become sober-minded. Thomas Edison said, "Time is really the only capital that any human being has, and the only thing he can't afford to lose." Many people think that more money will make them more valuable and wise, but the truth is when you learn to value the capital (time) you have been given then you are on the path to becoming wise. When we learn to value time we are learning to value our lives and those around us.Imagine daily people are scurrying around using their time to accumulate wealth and riches while their families are neglected, their children go off on the wrong path and their health suffers. Jim Rohn said, "Time is of more value than money, you can get more money, but you cannot get more time." Once time is gone, we can't get it back so today I want to encourage you to become wise by not compromising your relationships and health in the chase of unnecessary material possessions. Be a present mom or dad using your time to create memories with your family that would outlive you! Invest the capital of time into strong, godly foundations for your family by making time to go to church together, maybe watch a family movie, or even have meals around the table. Invest time in listening to the ones you love because one day you will want them to listen to you. “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light,”Matthew 6:20-22 ESVBe Nice. Grace Wins.
