Every Good Gift Comes from Above
I hope you all had a great weekend and for all you fathers out there, you were able to spend a day doing what you wanted. I had a successful weekend in VA racing but it caused me pause to reflect on some things. Over two days of racing I won 10/12 races or “tests”. The two I lost were from a hard crash resulting in bruised knee and twisted ankle. But for some reason, God blessed me with the will and ability to ice it down, squeeze my foot back into the boot on Sunday and proceed to win the overall and take home the number one trophy. This trophy is what got me thinking...You see, trophies come in all shapes and sizes. When we normally think of a trophy we think of something big, shiny, and golden. It’s something that we have been given because of our dedication and hard work (or sadly these days, for just being there) As we get older, trophies look different. They come in the form of an bonus, an acceptance letter into college, a dream job, a promotion, a first house, a new car, an engagement, a pregnancy test, for some of us a Motocross win and so on. These blessings are easy for us to talk about. We post about them on social media, tell our friends, and even celebrate them. We can spend so much time glorifying our blessings that we forget we were given them to glorify God.The blessings we receive are from God but sometimes we get so caught up in our works that we get fooled into having a sense of entitlement. Spend some time today reflecting on the blessings our Father has given us. Express to Him intimately in prayer how thankful you are to have a Father that continues to love and bless us, even when we are so undeserving.“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”James 1:17 Peace,

The Very Thing
When Paul said give thanks in all circumstances, he meant ALL. Including the crappy ones. Try thanking God today for the very thing that's keeping you from thanking Him.

Find Him in the Ordinary
We get excited about big blessings, but His blessings are everywhere if we'll just look. The little chats. The slight smile. Even the dogs that need us. All of it is praiseworthy.

Like a Father's Arm
Today is short and sweet because God's love is simple. His love endures forever. I felt it yesterday at treatment, like a father's arm around a son. I am humbled with gratitude.
