If I Got to Heaven Early, I Win

I had a very serious and candid conversation with a friend who has cancer. We were talking about the treatment, whether it would work or not. I kind of implied to him that, in a way, it doesn't really matter. But the treatment part isn't really what I want to talk about today. What I want to talk about is the faith part.

Yeah, we talk about faith a lot, but it's essential that we actually have it. It's the core of what makes our salvation possible.

Anyhow, my buddy asked me if I was scared the treatment wouldn't work. I replied, "What's there to be afraid of? What's the worst that could happen?" He answered, "I guess the worst would be you could die." I told him, because of my faith, that doesn't scare me at all. If I got to Heaven early, I win. I mean, after all, isn't that the goal?

So here's the question again. How's your faith?

Just as Jesus calmed the seas in the storm around His disciples, He will calm your seas. You just need faith.

Are you scared of something going on in your life today? Burdened, or heavy hearted? Are you battling an illness, facing persecution, or do you feel abandoned? Does your life seem like a never-ending cycle of stormy seas? Does it seem like the promises of God are nowhere close to being fulfilled? Take heart, and have faith in God.

Look up with eyes of faith to see things the way God sees them. When you have faith, you can see beyond your circumstances.
