Overcoming Fear Through Faith and Fellowship
We’ve talked about having Faith for the past couple of days now and I’d like to close the week by wrapping up how we exercise that Faith in overcoming our troubles and fears through fellowship with others. When was the last time you shared your fears and struggles with a close friends? You see, we were designed to go through this life with others. So the key is to surround ourselves with friends of like minds. We are stronger in number than we are by ourself. This is called fellowship. Fellowship actually helps us overcome struggles and fears. We can grow our faith in the Lord through fellowship and standing with others in Christ. Sharing our struggles and leaning on not on our own understanding but that of the Lord. Sometimes we can be embarrassed about our struggles so we hide and suppress them, but being vulnerable and honest with the people we trust, people who are on the same journey as us is key to overcoming our struggles and can keep us focused on Gods plan not ours. “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”2 Timothy 1:7 Don’t carry your burdens on your own. Embrace fellowship and confide in your brothers in Christ. Lift each other up in the word and help hold one another accountable. You all do that for me, and I am grateful. Peace,
